Amuso

Privacy Policy

Last updated October 28, 2026

In short: Amuso collects no personal data. It has no account, no server, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. Your library is read on your device, and the app talks only to Apple and to your Sonos speakers on your own network.

Who we are

Amuso is made by Pascal Bourque, an independent developer in Quebec, Canada (“we”, “us”). This policy covers the Amuso app for iPhone, iPad and Mac, and this website, amuso.app.

What we collect

Nothing. The app sends no personal data to us or to anyone else on our behalf. It contains no third-party code: no analytics, crash-reporting or advertising SDK. It does not track you across other companies’ apps and websites, and we neither sell nor share data about you.

What stays on your device

None of it leaves the device for us. Deleting the app deletes it.

Apple Music

Browsing your library and searching the Apple Music catalog go through MusicKit, which talks to Apple with your Apple Account. Apple handles those requests under the Apple Privacy Policy.

Your Sonos speakers and your local network

The app asks for Local Network access to find your Sonos speakers and to control them directly, over your Wi-Fi. It also receives the updates your speakers send on your network to stay in step with them. These exchanges never leave your network.

To play something, the app tells your speakers which Apple Music songs, albums or playlists to play. Your speakers then fetch the music from Apple Music themselves, with the Apple Music account you signed in to in the Sonos app. What Sonos does with that is covered by the Sonos Privacy Statement.

iCloud

The free version counts the plays you start each day. That count, a date and a number and nothing else, is kept in your iCloud account so that your devices share it. Apple stores it; we cannot see it. With iCloud off, it stays on the device.

Purchases

The unlock is sold by Apple through the App Store, under Apple’s terms. Apple handles the payment: we never receive your payment details or who you are. The app asks StoreKit, on your device, whether you own the unlock. From Apple we receive only the sales reports it gives every developer, which do not identify buyers.

Siri and Shortcuts

When you ask Siri or run a shortcut, Apple processes the request under its own privacy policy. The app receives only the action to perform, such as playing an album or setting the volume.

Crash reports

If you choose to share analytics with app developers in your device’s settings, Apple may give us crash reports and usage statistics that do not identify you. You can stop at any time in Settings, under Privacy & Security, Analytics & Improvements.

This website

amuso.app is hosted by Vercel, which receives the technical information any website does, such as your IP address and browser, to serve and protect the pages. We count visits with Vercel Web Analytics, which sets no cookies, keeps nothing that could identify you past a day, and does not follow you to other sites. Nothing else on the site sets cookies either.

When you write to us

If you email us, we use your address and your message only to answer you, and keep them only as long as that takes. We never add you to a mailing list.

Children

Amuso is not directed at children, and since it collects nothing, it collects nothing about children either.

Your rights

Since we hold no personal data about you, there is usually nothing for us to show, correct or delete; what the app keeps on your device is yours to delete with it. If you have written to us, you can ask us to delete your messages.

Under Quebec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector, the person in charge of the protection of personal information is Pascal Bourque, at pascal@polkapps.com. Wherever you live, you can also complain to your data protection authority; in Quebec, the Commission d’accès à l’information.

Changes to this policy

When this policy changes, the new version is published here with a new date. If the app ever starts collecting data, this policy will say so before the version of the app that does.
